Playground Positives: Whistlestop Park

Set right off County Line Rd in Montgomery Township, you’ll see a small sign for Whistlestop Park.  The park is aptly named for it’s location right by some train tracks (which is fun if you have a train lover!).  From the street, it’s hard to tell what’s in the park.  Thankfully – there are some pleasant surprises once you enter!

Walk past the basketball and hockey court to find the best element of this park: a covered playground.  Surrounded by trees, a good size playset with multiple slides, a bridge, climbing apparatuses, and games is covered by a large tent.  Not only does this keep kids more protected from the sun on hot summer days, it also keeps the equipment under it temperate (thankfully avoiding those, “The slide is too hot!” problems).  Outside of the covered area, you’ll find baby swings, a tire swing, and regular sized ones.  Two see-saws fall right outside the covered area.  Just a few steps away is an adorable little train with slide next to a pavilion.  There’s also a few benches and tables around.

It’s alarming just how much exists in this park.  In addition to the playground area, there’s basketball, hockey, and tennis courts.  There’s even baseball fields.

Enjoy your “stop” here! 🙂
