It’s always fun to get patriotic and celebrate Independence Day! And if you’re staying local, there are a bunch of places hosting parades, community events, and of course – tons of firework displays! Everything is linked on our Community Events calendar, but use this post to help you plan where to celebrate the 4th of July around you this year! We put together the events happening near Skippack, Norristown, Pottstown, Quakertown, Chalfont, Ambler, Conshohocken, and Glenside!
Wednesday, July 3rd
Head to Sutcliffe Park in Conshohocken on Wednesday, July 3rd for activities, food, and entertainment starting at 6pm. Then, enjoy the fireworks at 9:45pm!
Thursday, July 4th
Skippack has lots of fun happening today! There’s a parade starting at 11am through Skippack Pike and a BBQ at Parc Bistro. At 6pm, head over to Palmer Park for live music, vendors, games, and fireworks!
The New Britain Township Tri-Municipal Parade starts at 9:30am at the Town Center Shopping Center on Business Route 202 in New Britain Borough. It ends at North Branch Park on 207 Park Ave in New Britain Township (Chalfont).

Quakertown celebrates throughout the day with their Community Day at Memorial Park. Find a car show, dance performances, face painting, a dunk tank, bounce houses, bands, and of course – fireworks at night!
Glenside offers one of the country’s longest-standing parades and community celebrations. This is a great one! There’s a children’s program at 10am. At 4pm, a great parade begins with tons of firetrucks, dancers, bands, and more! Continue the celebration later by going to the fireworks between Abington Senior and Junior High Schools.
Norristown starts the celebration early today! There’s a parade starting at 9:45am that going from St. Francis on Marshall St. and ends on Main St. There’s also a Block Party on Main starting at 10:30am with craft vendors, live music, food, and a kids’ zone. A party at Elmwood Park goes from 3-9pm with a concert and fireworks.
Pottstown’s GoFourth carnival celebration offers family fun all day. Things kick off with the National Anthem at 11:30am. Family-friendly activities and food are offered all day. The Colebrookdale Railroad will be offering round-trips to Boyertown throughout the day. Around 6pm, hot air balloons will be released. And the night ends with fireworks!
Head over to Eagleville Park in Lower Providence Township for family-fun games, music, food, and a fireworks show! Things get rolling at 6:30pm.
Friday, July 5th
Enjoy a carnival and an epic firework show at Wissahickon High School tonight! There’s a carnival that begins at 6pm, and fireworks will go off around 9pm (or dusk). The carnival runs through Saturday, and fireworks will be on Saturday if rain prevents them on Friday. Carnival rides are available with tickets for $1.25/each or a sheet of 20 for $20.
