The YMCA believes that every child, regardless of their family's financial situation, deserves the right to experience YMCA programs and services. The Strong Kids Campaign is the YMCA's single annual capital campaign which funds programs for children in the North Penn community. The financial goal for 2011 is large, $160,000, but donations of only $26 can cover the cost of a children's group class. $50 places a child in need in swim lessons. Donations can be made on-line or by mail: YMCA Corporate Office, 2506 North Broad Street, Suite 208, Colmar, PA 18915.
Manna on Main Street was founded in 1981 and has grown to be a place where those seeking help and those willing to help have gathered to work together. Manna provides a soup kitchen and food cupboard, and a variety of other programs to help individuals in need. The vision of Manna on Main Street is "that everyone might be fed." When you support Manna on Main Street, you make a difference in the lives of people who are hungry. We welcome financial gifts , as well as donations of unopened, unexpired perishable and non-perishable food goods.
Most of us in this community have health, jobs, and feel supported by family and friends. But there are many who are struggling to make it; people who are vulnerable; people who feel alone and need our support. North Penn United Way gives a real opportunity for you to help others in our community to do better. From our youngest children to our most frail senior citizens, people depend on United Way, but we depend on you. Partner with us today for a better tomorrow. Help us to help the North Penn community. Please give generously .
The North Penn Valley and Indian Valley Boys & Girls Clubs provide safe and supervised environments for children ages 6-18 every day after school. For only $20.00 per year, the Clubs offer children and youth daily, organized activities, tournaments and contests, and our popular programs. Each day, children get to enjoy free time and socialize with their friends while surrounded by positive youth development professionals. Thank you for considering a contribution to North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club. We rely on the financial support of the community to keep our programs and services available to our members. Every contribution has an impact on the lives of our members.
Since 1900, Family Services has been caring for children, seniors, and families in Montgomery County who face everyday emotional difficulties or physical handicaps. Our many innovative services programs make a positive difference in the lives of 16,000 Montgomery County residents each year.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Mark Lieberman, Family Services offers nationally recognized programs, such as Becoming a Love and Logic Parent, Families and Schools Together (FAST), the Foster Grandparent Program, Meals on Wheels, and the Senior Companion Program.
In addition, our dedicated staff quickly responds to emerging local needs with targeted programming, such as Project HEARTH (Helping Elderly Adults Remain in Their Homes) and Project HOPE (HIV/AIDS Outreach Prevention Education). This fast-acting, community-focused approach has generated the respect of local leaders who turn to Family Services as a partner in collaborative efforts.
Whether it's physical, emotional or financial problems, Family Services is here to offer guidance, care and support. Our programs are varied to address different societal needs, but there is one significant constant: a commitment to care for each individual with kindness, dignity and compassion regardless of age, race or income.
At Family Services, we envision a strong, caring community of individuals and families meeting the challenges and opportunities of life. By doing this, we in turn enhance the community in which we live and work.
Family Services transforms generous donations into programs and services that benefit children, seniors and families throughout Montgomery County. Your support helps us make a positive difference in the lives of 16,000 Montgomery County residents each year!
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we’ve been impacting the lives of children for over 100 years. And we’re just getting started.
For over a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping change kids’ perspectives and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential. And we have over a century of volunteers, donors, and advocates just like you to thank.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is not your typical organization. We help children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities. And we couldn’t do any of it without you.
By donating to our organization , you are joining our mission of positively affecting children in your community. Every day, we work tirelessly to change the perspectives of children and give them an opportunity to achieve great things. But without donations, we couldn’t offer our mentoring services.
Variety the Children's Charity is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of children around the world. Through our network of 43 Tents (or Chapters) in 13 countries, Variety reaches into communities across the globe to offer financial assistance and services to children and organizations that serve children with special needs.
Through hard work, thoughtful stewardship, and single-minded focus on the needs of the young, Variety strives to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, their families, our communities, and the world...one need at a time.
On Christmas Eve 1928, a baby named Catherine was found in the Sheridan Theatre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Her adoption initiated the charitable work of Variety the Children's Charity.
Variety the Children's Charity is an outgrowth of the "Variety Club," a social organization founded in 1927 by 11 men affiliated with the entertainment industry in Pittsburgh, PA.
Today, Variety has 43 Tents (Chapters) in 13 countries. Including Philadelphia - Tent 13.
Tent 13, the Philadelphia chapter of Variety – The Children’s Charity, was started in 1935. Since then, the services and programs that the charity offers has helped Variety’s Tent 13 evolve into one of the largest charities in the Delaware Valley. Recently, Tent 13 received was named the #1 Chapter in the country by the national office of Variety. The distinction is given to the Variety Chapter with the greatest increase in revenue, the lowest administrative costs, and the largest development of new programs for children with disabilities.
Tent 13 serves children with physical and/or developmental disabilities in the following counties:
Pennsylvania: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Philadelphia
New Jersey: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem
Delaware: New Castle, Kent, and Sussex

Elmwood Park Zoo is a non-profit organization that relies upon public support to help make ends meet. This need is particularly acute in the winter, when the crowds have dwindled but the animals' needs continue. By supporting the zoo's Winter Care Appeal, you will be helping to ensure that the animals entrusted to our care continue to enjoy the best quality of life through the long winter months.
Your donation will directly support our ability to provide our animals with nutritious diets, veterinary care and enrichment.
The grocery bill alone is substantial, given what our animals consume daily:
40 lbs. of ground beef
150 lbs. of grain
80 lbs. of alfalfa pellets
20 lbs. of produce
100 crickets
Other animals, such as the otters, have strict dietary needs that require expensive, protein-rich food shipped in weekly. On top of that, routine veterinary care and medical supplies cost nearly $5,000 each month.
By donating to our Winter Care Appeal, you can help defray these enormous costs and make sure our animals stay healthy all through the winter!
Please make your tax-deductible contribution to help with the care and feeding of our animal family this winter! Click on one of the buttons below if you wish to make an electronic payment. If you prefer, you can mail your check payable to "Elmwood Park Zoo Winter Care Appeal" to the address at right. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
